Terrace
is famous for being the home of the White Kermode Bear or
Spirit Bear as it is known to the First Nations peoples of the area.
The
famous "Sleeping Beauty" mountain presents a spectacular view
from most
anywhere in Terrace.
Of
course we can't overlook the world class salmon fishing from the many
streams
and rivers in the area. The wildlife is abundant. It is possable to see
various
kinds of wildlife right from the grounds at New Remo Bed & Breakfast.
Just
north of town, you will find the "Lava Beds", a unique reminder
of how
the destructive forces of nature are mellowed into beautiful landscapes.
Visit
the 18 hole Golf and Country Club for a round of golf beneath the towering
majesty of Thornhill Mountain. Or hit a bucket of balls at the near by
driving range.
A
15 minute drive takes you to Mount Layton Hot springs for a relaxing and
therapeutic
swim or fine dining.
